Long Week...

Well, we're home. That would be the reason for the lack of blogging, Everett came home with us.
Here are some pics from before surgery. During bowel prep and then just waiting to go downstairs.

Amazingly enough, the only time I got to blog while in the hospital was while he was in the PICU.
I have to admit that I wish they kicked you out for an hour on the regular floor, too.

Anyhow, the very next morning they let us out of the PICU...well, they told us that morning around 7 that we were leaving. We made it back upstairs that afternoon around 2. Welcome to hospital time. :)

After a long battle with morphine and ativan, we finally decided that he didn't really need any pain meds at all and by Friday morning he was completely off of everything...including Tylenol.

Mommy had to go to work, so Daddy got to step in and spend some quality hospital time with KP. So, of course, about 8 million pictures followed.
KPs girlfriend, Kathy came to visit him in the hospital, too. :D She was our guest photographer for the day. :D
And she brought presents and a super duper cute card! :)

KP was wiped out from all the attention so he grabbed some much needed zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..

Anyhow, KP is doing well. He is just a bit crankier than usual, but I think that's because we retrained him in the hospital and now we're paying the price.

I won't bore you with the details of his healing, but let's just say everything is looking good.

We had an appointment with the cranial people yesterday, and they agree that he is making good progress. Today we are going to see our surgeon for post-op follow up and we will find out when our next surgeries will be. Hopefully it is after Mom is here, but if not, we may be reaching out quite a bit to local family this time for help because there is a lot of transition going on at work right now.

For those of you keeping track, the next surgeries will be colostomy closure and chordee repair. We are hoping to be able to do them together, but we are not sure if that will be the case. Now that KP has had an adverse reaction to anesthesia, it makes every surgeon a bit more weary about putting him under.

Well, that's all for now. Our friend, Sam is now a dad. His twins were born on Monday. They are hanging out in the nicu for a while, but they look great and are progressing well.
This is Sam practicing being a Dad with Everett back in November.
(No, this is not a recent picture, nor is that one of Sam's little Dudes)

Well, that is all for now.
xoxo

  4. Finally figured how to send comments again. Was happy to see pictures of Everett. I couldn't believe how fast he bounced back with all those smiles. What a resilient baby he is. Mom and Dad must be doing things right. All my prayers are with your three during the next operations. Love, Pam
