I know, I know....

I'm a horrible updater. And a lot has happened, so hang in there. If I forget something, and you know I've forgotten something, leave a comment or send me an email and I will update.

And now on with the show...

So, I know it's dark, but I thought this would make everyone happy right up front. :)

The background story is that Dylan's car broke down, so we had to borrow my dad's Scion Xb. It has a lowered suspension, so the backseat rides very similar to that of a bucking bronco...like the real kind, not the car kind. Anyhow, Everett thinks that is just the most joyous thing EVER! :) Well, combine that with having Dad in the backseat with him, and there is just no stopping this kid! :)

Everett's hernia surgery was postponed because of his RSV, so now we are looking at tentatively March 24. We had an appointment with his pediatrician (one of about 6 appointments with his pedi in the past month). But this one was special, because it was his 6 month appointment! He weighed in at 15 lb 14 oz which puts him in the 20% for his age. But, he was 27" long which puts him around 70% for his age. So, here comes our little stringbean. :) We hope to be starting him on solid foods this week and possible even sippy cups! :) We will keep you informed.

We are also currently considering going to Cincinnati Children's Hospital for his pull-through operation. Dr. Pena pioneered the pull through procedure, and the Colorectal Center is the only one of its kind in the entire world. After hearing stories from other moms, I'm thinking more and more that this is the direction that we want to go in.

So, anyhow, February 29th was a very special day for us. (This is where we get all selfish...consider it a commercial break.) We officially closed on our house. Now for you veteran homebuyers, you're probably thinking, oh, congrats. Because when you bought your house you probably knew you were going to close at least 20 days in advance...we found out about 1:00 that afternoon. :) But, everything worked out, and we are super excited. Ba-chan is in town and Ji-chan is on his way in (flight cancelled today, so we're crossing our fingers for tomorrow). They're going to help us make our humble little house look like a home. :)

Anyhow, so we closed on our house. Everett turned 6 months old! :) And, for those of you who know the story, Feb. 29th is a very special day for Dylan as well. So, as a surprise, I got some prints of him and Everett framed for him and gave them to him throughout the day. I then told him after our closing that we had to scope out the Omni Mandalay for our friend that is a wedding photographer. So, Dylan went into M Bar to check out the scenery while I "scoped" other things out. :) While he did that, I checked us into the hotel and surprised him with an overnight stay. It was wonderful and relaxing. They must have kajillion bajillion thread count sheets and it was like sleeping on a cloud. We went to Jinbeh for dinner and completely spoiled ourselves, watched an in room movie, and even got breakfast in bed. We SO did not want to go work a 15 hour day on Saturday! Anyhow, here is Dylan's reaction when he realized we were staying. This smile stayed on his face for like an hour:

So, anyway, I'm starting to get tired and I know I've left a lot out. Like I said, email me and let me know, I'll do an update.

xoxo
Margot

  1. I know, I know....I was about to go crazy with no updates...Do get some from Mimi on ocassion. I know the overnight stay at the Omni was a well deserved and well needed get away for you both. It's good to get away and remember and remind yourselves why you two got together in the first place. Don't ever forget no matter how hectic it gets in life. You have a beautiful son and he absolutely needs both of you now and always.
I totally agree with taking Everett to the best possible place for his surgery. Margot... you are a great photograher!!!The pictures are wonderful. Dylan.. I wish you would make me laugh like you did Everett!!!! I want one of those crying laughs...haven't had one in a long time. Everett..you are growing so big and getting more handsome by the minute.
