Everett's Baptism

As many of you already know, Everett was baptized last Sunday, February 3. This was, of course, the last Sunday to baptize him before Lent, so we will call it the baptism of the procrastinators...well, of the procrastinator's children, anyway. :)

There were 4 boys total being baptized on Super Bowl Sunday. :) We'll see if that turns out to be fortuitous in any way later on. ;)

Brett and Jessica are Everett's Godparents. Brett was able to find some time during his busy SuperBowl Sunday to come hang out with us for a bit. :) He also ended up baptizing his sleeve in the process. :)

Jess was unable to attend, but we will forgive her because of the whole living in Japan bit. ;)

Both were pleased to be asked, and we were pleased that they accepted. I think that they will both fulfill their roles pleasantly. ;)

I have included a short, slightly truncated, video of the baptism. We had a bit of camera difficulty, and we caught our cameraperson (Mamaw) off guard a little, I think. :)

Everett went right to sleep as soon as the Holy Water hit his head. He stayed peacefully asleep through the rest of Mass, and then woke up as we were leaving. He got to say bye to Grandad Lynn and Grandma Sheri before they headed off to Hawaii, and got kisses from Mimi before she headed off to work.

Mamaw, Papaw, Brett, Mom and Dad all went to lunch after Mass. On the way to lunch, Everett became very animated in the backseat, just laughing and talking and gesturing all over the place. We think that he and his Angel were having a very involved conversation.

Anyhow, this weekend has been truly eventful to say the least. It appears that this week will continue to be eventful, as well. I will post the details later on, but please continue to keep our little KP (kicky pants) in your prayers.

xoxo
Margot
