So, about that eventful weekend that I was telling you about. Last Wednesday Everett started getting a little bit sniffly. By Thursday, he was coughing, so we went to see his Pediatrician.
Well, the pediatrician said it seemed like he had a bad cough, so we just needed to keep an eye on him. He seemed to be feeling a little better by Saturday, and then, wouldn't you know it, around 4 a.m. on Sunday morning he woke up inconsolable.
Since Urgent Care didn't open until noon (and that was looking to be a very loooong 8 hours), we went to the ER. We got into the room fairly quickly, and then the waiting began.
Everett was diagnosed with RSV (yes, I know that he's been taking the Synagis, but the theory is that if he had not been having the Synagis it would have been worse). Because of his history, they decided to admit him for observation. So, we were in a room by around 2pm (yes, I promise that you're reading right...just do the math and you can figure out how THAT day went).
Everett stabilized, and we were able to take him home yesterday on oral steroids and his normal breathing treatments. We have added CPT to his routine every 4 hours.
So, his surgery this week has been postponed for 6-8 weeks. Yes, you're reading that right as well. This is how you can figure out what kind of week I am now having.
Anyhow, below are some pictures of his most recent hospital stay, short and sweet as it was.
