August

At the beginning of August, KP decided it was time to run away from home. :)

He didn't get very far.

We spent most of the summer trying to avoid the mosquitos and the heat at the spraygrounds in Richardson.

KP always has a great time.

We also went back to G-daddy's to play on the tractor some more.

G-daddy was nice enough to share his tractor, too. :)

KP is learning the difference between left and right. :)

Cruising

Whew

So, one day, we went to Central Market to play on the playground. While we were there, KP wanted to go up into the fort and down the slides. I found this little lilly pad type setup, and took a minute to show him how to go up them. Within about 5 minutes, he was scaling the lilly pads in less than 10 seconds, running over to the slide, going down the slide, and then running back to do it all over again.

Under the fort

Back to G-Daddy's. KP has now gotten very good at driving his tractor, and very bossy, too. :)

Pit stop.

KP conned Uncle Wowie into giving him a ride on the big tractor

Whew. This is hard work!

KP and G-ma. :)

KP and Mimi

Kisses!!

Meemaw!!!

Dylan and Meemaw

KP woke up and decided that he wanted chips and salsa for breakfast. No joke. He had me open the refrigerator, pointed at the salsa, and said "chips please".

Toward the end of the month, KP and Daddy went to the zoo. Our zoo membership is another thing that has saved us this summer with keeping KP occupied.

Sliding. :)

KP has also been working on his gymnastics. It's funny to think that he was a bit unsure on his feet at this time last year.

July - In review

On July 17, KP decided to gather multiple treasures from around the house to share with Goose. I see it more as evidence of all the different rooms that he has raided.

At the end of July, Dylan was recognized by our corporate office as a finalist for the Chairman's Photographic Award in Minneapolis.

While Dylan was gone, Bachan came down to help with KP, and to watch him when I went up to Minneapolis to meet Dylan. While I was still in town we went to the zoo, and KP discovered the joy of puddles.

On Saturday, KP got to visit G-Daddy Lynn and G-ma Sheri, and had quite a surprise waiting for him.

KP also discovered the joy of Chuck E. Cheese after he and Bachan picked us up from the airport

The next morning we discovered a visitor by our backdoor and thought it would be fun to bring him in for KP to examine. KP thought it was kind of neat, and got really interested around the time that it decided to jump out of the tupperware and hop under the stove.

KP decided to ham it up for us after breakfast

Fish face! :)

All of that fun just wore KP out.

At the end of the month, KP had a run in with a few mosquitos. This pretty much sums up our summer -- the battle between KP and the mosquitos. I'm pretty sure KP lost.
